3 Monkeys and A Warrior to Cambodia

I guess by now people would be wondering what monkeys and what warriors?
I will just keep the warrior identity a secret. Whereas for me, I guess I belongs to the monkey group.
There are a total of 4 bikes with no pillion on this trip. We started off from Singapore through Malaysia & Thailand, lastly reaching Cambodia. Although we need to go through 2 Countries, but its not very far (Compared to western countries).

The total round trip we have covered is 4968km.

On the trip day(8th March 2006). All of us gather in Taman Jurong KFC (Singapore) around 2100hrs to do the last check before the trip. Because we need to cross 3 countries’ borders, therefore all the necessary documents are to be checked.

The road seems like no ending for us to reach

After 17 hours of night/day riding conquering 1300km for the first day. We stand down at Chumporn (Thailand).

Our second night, we stay at Sa Kaeo(Thailand) which is around 50km from the Cambodia border.


Next day morning, all of us are preparing the bike for Cambodia ride.
Because of the terrain, we need to adjust our suspension and lower our tyre pressure.

This is where our mystery warrior comes into play. I have been hiding this hero because he is the only one riding a different bike. Guess what bike?
His name is Alex and I guess we should give him a round of applauses for his bravery act…

Why is he hero? Because his riding posture is the most tedious among us.
Imagine riding a sport bike in that kind of terrain and the distance we have covered.
No wonder the bike wants to give up…

I had a fall too. But lucky for me, my crash bar takes everything. And I was so close to a pond that I have forgotten to take photos of the fall.

In Cambodia, it’s an offence to switch on the head light, thus we obey the rules to prevent a fine of US$1.25…

The coffee shop owner is so nice to,they let us park our bike in their coffee shop for one night because its raining heavily and we can’t go anywhere. Then she told her husband who is a police officer to sent us to a nearby hotel by police truck. It’s a first class treatment in Cambodia for us.
